New course for family carers

Brain injury charity Headway Suffolk is launching a new and free unique course for family carers to train as professional carers.

The course, which will run for three weeks, will enable any family carer who has looked after a loved one with any condition to train as a professional carer through experiencing care support provided in Headway’s hubs and home care services.

Each carer will also benefit from the charity’s in-depth training, including qualifying in first aid, manual handling and the care certificate, as well as training in other care subjects.

On successful completion of the course, candidates will receive a job opportunity with Headway Suffolk and start training for level two in health and social care.  Each candidate must have a clear DBS check and be able to drive.

The course is being offered completely free of charge.

For further information on this exciting opportunity, contact Helen Fairweather on 01473 712225, 01473 552834, or email: [email protected].
