Big Lottery awards Headway grant

Headway Suffolk is delighted to have been awarded a grant of £383,238 from the Big Lottery Fund to fund our Clinical Therapy team for five years.

The news was aired on BBC Look East on September 15, as shown below, with our CEO Helen Fairweather saying: “The thought of making our therapists redundant was unthinkable. Not only do they support in the hubs and out in the community, they help people in their own homes, and those sort of activities would have had to have stopped without that clinical expertise help, so when we finally heard we got the lottery grant it was a huge, huge relief.  It was like Christmas coming early.”

James Messenger, a father of twin girls who has been attending Headway since having a stroke two years ago, said: “I don’t give up.  I told myself I was going to walk again and with the help of physiotherapists I’m walking again.”
