Headway Suffolk and Genesis Orwell Mencap received an award totalling £5,000 from Suffolk Community Foundation in recognition of the groups’ partnership working and joined up thinking.
The organisations have been working in partnership for over a year, providing a greater variety of services to 100 clients to maximise their opportunities and enable them to socialise regularly and learn new skills.
In total 12 charities received £69,000 between them to celebrate the work they carry out in their communities and in partnership with other organisations.

The award was presented by Councillor Jane Storey, Councillor for Communities, Rural and Broadband, who said “there were some very strong applications, I was delighted to be on the panel and help to recognise those groups who have built stronger communities and partnerships; an excellent programme.”
