Walk 100 miles in March

Walk 100 miles in the month of March and raise money for those with a traumatic brain injury or a neurological condition in Suffolk.

You can take on the challenge in whatever way suits you. You could walk every day or just at the weekends. Just you and your dog, or with friends. Walking 100 miles in March is approximately 3.2 miles per day or 6,666 steps per day.

Set-up your chosen fundraising page (we recommend www.crowdfunder.co.uk) but the choice is yours. Please make sure you select Headway Suffolk when setting up your page.

After you have signed up, you can join our dedicated Facebook group: www.facebook.com/groups/747614403252312.

When you have joined the group you can get motivation, tips and ideas from us and all your fellow fundraisers. You can also show us your progress and find out anything you want to about the challenge and Headway Suffolk and Brainy Dogs.

There is no set minimum fundraising amount but we suggest you set a realistic target of around £150, but even just £5 would help.

Everyone is welcome to take part in the challenge. If you are a wheelchair user you could challenge yourself to do a set distance every day. The challenge is flexible, we advise everyone to set a challenge that’s suitable for them.

You do not have to prove your miles but we recommend if you have a pedometer, smartwatch, Fitbit or smart phone that can record your miles or steps that you use it. It will help you keep motivated and easy to check how far you have walked.

Don’t forget to dress appropriate to the weather conditions and wear suitable footwear. Don’t forget to bring fresh water and treats for you and your dog.
